Kids Nest 2 was established in 2003 by distinct pillars of the community, Annette Smith, and Wil Carter. Ms. Smith is now deceased. Mr. Carter stepped down from management in 2021. He passed the torch to his daughters. Kids Nest II has been synonymous with providing safe, age-appropriate childcare for children from newborn to 10 years old. The current facility, licensed for 32 children and boasting a 4-star Step Up to Quality rating, primarily caters to preschool children aged 3 and 4, focusing on kindergarten preparedness using Teaching Strategies and Preschool Promise curriculums. Kids Nest2 is expanding to a 7000 sq ft commercial building that will be licensed for 74 children. This building will accommodate infants, toddlers, and after-school children. The after-school children can expect a structured program that includes computers, tutoring, various indoor activities, and a state-of-the-art playground. After school youth will be separated by age groups to focus on retaining what is learned in school, improving communication, learning acceptance, interacting positively with others despite differences and team building with other students.
